STRATEGY

Our strategy is based around four pillars

      • Product • People • Environment • Community

Each pillar contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Our annual ESG report sets out our progress during 2022-23 in achieving our ambitions in each of the four pillars of our ESG strategy

Throughout the report, our champions have shared some of the many ways in which we are making progress. We are proud of what we have achieved so far, and we hope that our progress is a source of inspiration and for even bolder aspirations and innovations in the years ahead.

PRODUCT

To responsibly produce healthy, fresh produce that delights our customers every day.

We embrace the principles of regenerative agriculture and a circular economy, designing out waste from seed to consumption and sourcing responsibly by setting these same standards for all our suppliers and partners.

Our decisions are data based and we use new technology to support continuous improvement.

PEOPLE

To be known as a great place to work

Our ambition is to improve the lives of all our people and empower them with the information, skills and resources to flourish.

We proudly champion ethical employment, protect labour rights, drive to eradicate modern slavery and promote healthy, safe working environments.

ENVIRONMENT

To manage land and water resources for future generations

We are taking action to halt the degradation of our soil and water resources and to protect biodiversity.

We are continually developing our understanding of our impact on climate change and are committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2035.

COMMUNITY

To be good neighbours and make a positive contribution within our communities.

We will improve the wellbeing of our communities by having a positive social impact.

We recognise our role in supporting them to thrive and we seek to inspire our communities to engage with and appreciate farming and food.
